Award Winning Texas-Based Comic Creator Heads to Geek'd Con

Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center.

The guest lineup will include horror movie icon Tony Todd, Scrubs star John C. McGinley, the voice of Master Chief Steve Downes, award winning actor Billy Zane, the voice of Mickey Mouse Bret Iwan, and many more incredibly talented celebrities. Including some great comic book creator talent.

One of those comic creators is barrier breaking creator Hector Rodriguez III.

Hector Rodriguez III/Chispa Comics

Award-winning Chicano comic book creator Hector Rodriguez III is a native of the border town of Eagle Pass, Texas.

He is the creator of the internationally recognized superhero series, El Peso Hero, and also the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the newly minted Chispa Comics, the first direct-to-market Latino comic book publishing house in collaboration with Scout Comics.

In addition, he serves as Director of Development for Masked Republic, where he oversees the creative development of Masked Republic Lucha media properties.

Scout Comics will have multiple guests on-hand at Geek'd Con once again this year. Including fan-favorites Matt Knowles and Steph Cannon, artist Greg Krivac, and Scoot Comics writer Mitchell Martinez. There will be more members of the Scout Comics teams at Geek'd Con this year as well.

Geek'd Con is back for another fantastic year at the Shreveport Convention Center. On top of the regular Geek'd Con festivities, this year on the second floor we will debuting the Shreveport Sports Card Show - which will feature sports card vendors, memorabilia vendors and sports guests!
