Anthony Davis Named Finalist For NBA MVP And Defensive POY

New Orleans Pelicans Superstar Anthony Davis has been named a finalist for NBA MVP and NBA Defensive Player of the Year Awards.

He's got some major competition in both categories though, Cleveland's LeBron James and Houston's James Harden are the other finalists for MVP. It's not shocking to see LeBron or Harden on the list, in fact, Davis might be the surprise here. Due to the fact no one really expected to see Davis on the list, it's highly unlikely he'll come home with this piece of hardware. In fact, most experts have picked Harden to win it in a runaway.

But the Defensive POY Award is a little more likely, but honestly, the experts aren't feeling Davis here either. Davis’ competition for Defensive Player of the Year is Philadelphia's Joel Embiid and Utah's Rudy Gobert. Most experts are pointing at Gobert for this one.

The awards will be given out June 25th.
