If you've been hit hard by the rain this week, The American Red Cross is here to help.

We've been hammered by rain in the last 24 hours. Many are dealing with flash flooding across the area. The American Red Cross is opening a location to help those affected who need to evacuate their homes. You can find them at First Baptist Church of Haughton in Bossier Parish, located at 105 E. Washington Avenue. More locations are expected to open as the American Red Cross works with parish officials on other sites.

Should you have to evacuate your home during the storms, you should remember to bring the following essentials:

-Any prescriptions or emergency medications
-Any foods needed for unusual dietary requirements
-ID cards, proof of residency and important personal documents
-Extra clothing and toiletries
-Pillows and blankets
-Items for infants like diapers and formula
-Toys for your kids, entertainment for yourself
-Any specialty items needed for elderly or disabled family members
-Chargers

Unfortunately pets are not permitted in the shelters, unless they are service animals.
