Achievements:  Star baseball and football player at Huntington.  Two time All-State baseball player at Huntington.  Silver medalist as part of Team USA in the 1984 Junior Olympics.  Two time All-SEC Baseball player at LSU.  Drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1988.  Five time MLB All-Star.  Five time Silver Slugger Award Winner.  1995 AL Home Run Champion.  Three time AL RBI Champion.  Became fourth player in MLB history to have eight consecutive season with 30 HR/100RBI, joining Babe Ruth, Lou Gherig and Jimmie Foxx.  In 1995, Albert became the first player ever to to hit 50 home runs and 50 doubles in a season.  1995 Sporting News and Baseball Digest Player of the Year.  Member of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.  Known as one of the most intimidating sluggers in baseball during his years.  Also known for his disdain of the media which likely kept him from winning the 1995 AL MVP, and surely hasn't helped him in consideration for the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame.
