The “pod” approach to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 has kept any one story from sagging, but we’re hard-pressed not to feel the absence of Gabriel Luna’s Ghost Rider. Well, ABC dug into the budget for one last ride, as a cryptic new tweet confirms that Robbie Reyes and his flaming skull will back before we know it.

Only a few episodes removed from the fourth season (and hopefully not series) finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the show’s Twitter account seemed overwhelmingly to hint that things would he heating up before long. Shortly thereafter, TVLine confirmed that Gabriel Luna would reprise his role in the Season 4 finale.

Of course, one still has to wonder in exactly what capacity we might see Robbie Reyes again. When last we left, he and his Uncle Eli fell through a portal made of the Darkhold’s magic and Aida’s manipulation, which perhaps-not-coincidentally resurfaced as part of Aida’s plan to escape from the “Framework” into the real world.

Is Robbie somehow trapped in the Framework as well? Will he and his flaming alter-ego provide last-minute assistance to keep Aida from getting her wish? And who’s this “Silhouetted Man” played by Joel Stoffer, listed in TVLine’s report?

We’ll keep lookout for any flaming skulls this coming Tuesday with “Farewell, Cruel World!,” but stay tuned for the latest on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 in the meantime.
