At the conclusion of the 2023 NFL season, there were 58 former LSU football players with active NFL contracts. That's the third most among colleges who have players on NFL rosters, behind Alabama at #1, and Ohio State at #2.

But not all of those LSU players entered the league through the NFL's annual draft...or "Annual Player Selection Meeting". Because the NFL Draft isn't the only way players can enter the league. Once the draft has concluded, any player not selected becomes a free agent, and is able to sign with any team.

Players like Breiden Fehoko, Micah Baskerville, Reid Ferguson, and Badara Traore all ended up with NFL deals without being taken in the NFL Draft.

But when it comes to the NFL Draft, LSU has been very prolific over the years. In 2020, LSU tied a record for the most players taken in a single NFL Draft from one school. That year, LSU tied the record by having 14 players taken in that year's draft. That included 5 players being taken in the first round of the 2020 draft.

The record for most players from a single school being taken in a draft has since been broken, when Georgia had 15 players taken in 2022. That year Georgia had the same amount of first round picks that LSU had in 2020 (5).

LSU has had plenty of NFL Draft success since that record year in 2020. Lets take a look at all of the players LSU has had drafted since 2020.
