It's been a hot minute, but UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball is officially back!

Here's more about what we're talking about from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"Ragin Cajuns men’s basketball clinched a share of their first Sun Belt title since 2000 with an 81-76 win over Troy last night. UL-Lafayette is now 14-1 in the Sun Belt. It was also win number 500 for head coach Bob Marlin. Frank Bartley led all scorers with 22 points."

Now technically ULL won the Sun Belt Tournament in 2004 and 2005 as well, but those were "vacated" a couple years ago. Which is always something that's annoyed me. Did they award the Tournament victory to the team that lost the Championship Game that year? New Orleans one year, and Denver the other? Unless you do that, then we're not just going to "forget" that it happened.

Much like USC Football in 2004. We're just going to pretend like they didn't win the Orange Bowl, and that National Championship, and had one of the best teams ever? That's a joke.

ULL's basketball team is doing some incredible stuff this year, and they're building on a foundation of success that hopefully won't be disrupted again.
