Matthew Harper of Parkway High School in Bossier City Wins in International Powerlifting Federation World Championships

We have an international powerlifting winner living right here in the Shreveport-Bossier area! The Tiger congratulates 17-year-old Matthew Harper, a senior at Parkway High School in Bossier City.

Matthew represented the United States on the international platform for the first time at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Championships.

Matt's showing was very impressive with his squat, bench and deadlift totaled 795 kg/1,752 pounds, ranking him in 2nd place in the whole world in the sub-junior division. Thank you Matthew Harper for bringing home the silver medal!
