Former LSU Tiger Dwayne Bowe Gets Paid by Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have made former LSU wide receiver Dwayne Bowe a wealthy man. Bowe is now the third highest paid wide receiver in the NFL with a five year $56 million deal, $26 million of it guaranteed.
USA Today reports that Bowe received a $15 million signing bonus and will receive $36 million over the first three years of the contract. Bowe's average salary for the duration of the deal is $11.2 million a year. Only Detroit's Calvin Johnson ($16.2 million/year) and Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald ($15 million/year) are more highly paid at the position.
The contract also keeps Bowe in Kansas City for newly acquired quarterback Alex Smith.
