Former New Orleans Saints running back Chuck Muncie has passed away at the age of 60. Muncie spent nine seasons in the NFL with the Saints and Chargers.

He was a three time pro-bowler and first round draft choice by the Saints in 1976.

Muncie’s career was shortened by a cocaine addiction, but he was able to turn his life around in prison after a drug arrest. He began working with children and adult addicts in 1989, and in 1997 established the Chuck Muncie Youth Foundation.

Chuck Muncie died Tuesday of a heart attack.
