‘The First Purge’ Will Make America Gory Again This Summer
The twisted minds behind The Purge franchise are at it again — and so is their brilliant marketing team. Universal has officially announced the next chapter in the increasingly socio-political horror series with a new teaser poster incorporating a certain very famous red baseball cap. Get ready for The First Purge.
What’s Leaving Netflix: February 2018
Watch these now before they’re gone (maybe for good).
What Is Up With These Teasers for Danny McBride’s ‘Crocodile Dundee’ Sequel?
It started late last Friday, when People magazine ran a mysterious teaser for Dundee — a sequel to Paul Hogan’s classic Crocodile Dundee movies, starring Danny McBride as the American son of the titular Aussie hero. With little else to go on and with McBride premiering a film at Sundance this week, we assumed the teaser was a fake-out of some kind. Surely a bunch of people didn’t go off into the Outback and make a top-secret sequel to something like Crocodile Dundee, of all things…right? But then another teaser appeared.
‘Justice League’ Blu-ray Will Include Exactly One Deleted Scene, Nothing More
Warner Bros. has taken pity on Zack Snyder’s devout followers.
New ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ Photo Gives Us Another Look at Evangeline Lilly in Costume
A new year means new movies, and Disney is staying on top of it with sneak peeks at some of their big upcoming sequels — including Ant-Man and the Wasp, which sees (as you can guess from the title) Evangeline Lilly suiting up to follow in her vanished mother’s super-footsteps with a cool suit of her very own. And the latest photo from the sequel to the 2015 Marvel movie delivers on the promise with another peek at Lilly’s super sleek Wasp suit…oh, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man is there too, of course.
‘Spawn’ Creator Promises New Movie Will Have Absolutely No Funny Business
While the box office numbers and general internet response would indicate that Deadpool and Logan were very successful and widely-beloved films that subverted popular superhero conventions, at least one man is not having any of it: Todd McFarlane. The comic book creator and action figure purveyor has been making the rounds to (once again) talk up that long-promised new Spawn movie, which, as he previously explained, will do for Hellspawns what Jaws did for sharks. According to McFarlane’s latest comments, it also won’t have any of that problematic “fun” stuff that plagued Deadpool and Logan.
‘Deadpool 2’ Will Now Duke It Out With ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Solo’ in May
Following today’s report on Gore Verbinski’s exit from Channing Tatum’s Gambit movie, Fox is making some big moves — the most major of which is, unsurprisingly, with Deadpool 2. The studio has moved the sequel to 2016’s R-rated anti-superhero hit up to May, almost a whole month earlier than its June 1 release date.
Channing Tatum’s ‘Gambit’ Movie Loses Director Gore Verbinski
*Extremely Seinfeld voice* What is the deal with this Gambit movie, am I right? Channing Tatum’s long-developing and oft-troubled X-Men solo project has lost yet another director, as Gore Verbinski, who most recently helmed A Cure for Wellness, has exited the project — and though the split was reportedly “amicable,” this Gambit movie (and Tatum’s inability to keep a director on board) is starting to feel like a big ol’ prank.
‘Teen Titans GO! to the Movies’ in First Trailer for New DC Animated Film
Justice League may not have been the awesome superhero ensemble we all wanted it to be, but another DC superhero team is on the way to a theater near you to (hopefully) make up for it. The first trailer for Teen Titans GO! to the Movies is here, revealing Warner Bros. latest super-effort, based on the popular Cartoon Network animated series. And yes, these adorable animated teen heroes are fully aware that you’d rather see more Wonder Woman — they would, too.
