The LSU Women's Basketball team is still picking up the pieces after falling short of a National Championship repeat in this year's NCAA Tournament. The Tigers lost in the Elite Eight to Iowa, in an epic rematch of last year's National Championship Game.

As Coach Kim Mulkey prepares to rebuild for next year, her job keeps getting harder. As expected, superstar Angel Reese has announced she will be entering the WNBA Draft. That means LSU will have to replace their most productive leader right away.

But then news came that Guard Hailey Van Lith would be entering the transfer portal after just one season in Baton Rouge. You could argue that Van Lith was the second biggest star on this past year's Tigers squad. So that's a little more "star power" that needs to be replaced.

However, it doesn't seem like it's just going to be stars that need to be rebuilt on the roster. Because the team is now losing depth as well, as another LSU Tiger has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

This time, the LSU Women's Basketball player entering the transfer portal is Freshman guard Angelica Velez.

Velez appeared in 23 games this year, averaging 1.2 points and 0.6 rebounds per game. While she didn't post massive numbers, she did get playing time in tournament games between the SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament.

While LSU has now lost two into the transfer portal, they have already gained one too. They are bringing in Jersey Wolfenbarger from Arkansas. She's a 6'5 forward who was an SEC All-Freshman Team member, McDonald's All American, and two time Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year in high school.
