It was a rough start to the season for Ryan Higgins. After some off-the-field issues cost him time on the field, it would appear that he's trying to make up for lost time.

After putting up 504 yards and three touchdowns against Middle Tennessee, Higgins won his first career 'weekly award'. Here's more from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"In LSWA honors, Louisiana Tech Quarterback Ryan Higgins was named Offensive Player of the Week. The Defensive Players of the week are linebacker Nico Marley of Tulane, and Nicholls State defensive back B.T. Sanders. The Special Teams Player of the Week is Tulane’s kicker, Andrew DiRocco."
