Has anyone else out there been singing the wrong lyrics to some classic Christmas songs their entire life?

There's nothing more embarrassing as a child than not knowing the words to classic Christmas songs. I remember gathering with my cousins to sing carols in front of the tree with Grandma filming us. While most of them belted out the lyrics in a shouting manor, I found that I lacked much of the memorization that my family members possessed. Often times I would make up the lyrics.

Now, as an adult, I find many lyrics I've been singing incorrectly for decades.

For instance, the song "Jingle Bells" features a "one horse, open sleigh." As a kid I would sing it as "one or soffen-sleigh." I have no clue what a "soffen" sleigh is, but I sang it as loud as I could through school assemblies, car rides and even impromptu musicals on the playground. I feel like such a fool.

But I know I can't be alone.

Are there any classic Christmas song lyrics that you've been butchering for years now? Tell us in the comments. I'm sure we'll all get a good laugh out of this.
