Just after 7:00 this morning, Monday, October 11, we were tickled to announce that Reba McEntire will return to Bossier City!

Scotty McCreery isn’t the only country superstar celebrating the Season 11 finale of ‘American Idol.’ Reba McEntire is set to perform on tonight’s episode (May 23) with country hopeful Skylar Laine, who placed No. 4 this season after being eliminated a few weeks ago.

This week, Reba McEntire technically became the second female country artist to ever sell more than 30 million albums. The first woman to do this was Shania Twain, who is currently considered the top-selling female country artist of all time with 34,175,000 albums sold, according to Perez Hilton.

Kelly Clarkson is well into her 2012 Stronger Tour, and last night (April 3) she took the stage at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater with several of her musical celebrity friends. Those joining the ‘Idol’ star onstage included country greats Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton.

The Academy of Country Music Awards show was on TV this past Sunday night.  George Strait, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson and Keith Urban of some of the biggest stars in country music, but none of them were nominated for any awards. Who do you think should have been on the list?

Reba McEntire‘s fans weren’t the only ones devastated when a death hoax surrounding the flame-haired country queen spread across the web fast enough to become a trending topic. As it turns out, McEntire’s own nephew suffered panic attack when he caught wind of the virally spreading “news” that his aunt had plummeted to her death after falling from a mountain while filming in Austria.

We’ve seen her in her own television shows, on Broadway, in film and especially on stage, and we’re about to witness Reba McEntire in the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame as well.

I can remember this just like it was yesterday, because I had just seen Reba's concert at Hirsch Coliseum here in Shreveport just a couple of weeks before the plane crash. I went back stage with some of our winners and met Reba. I also talked a long while with her guitar player, Michael Thomas, who was killed in the plane crash just a few days later.

In September, we reported Reba McEntire‘s intent to star in and become the executive producer for the sitcom ‘Malibu Country.’ Now, the latest news surrounding the show is that ABC ordered the pilot, adding it to nine other comedy pilots the network is considering for the upcoming television season.

Reba McEntire is taking reports of her alleged tragic death very well. After tweeting yesterday that she was indeed still breathing and doing all the things expected of a healthy, 56-year-old woman, she posted this picture to the Reba McEntire on WhoSay website.

It quickly became clear that rumors of Reba McEntire‘s death were part of a hoax, but it’s still a relief to have the singer herself available to assure fans that everything is OK. McEntire took to her Twitter page on Tuesday afternoon to try to explain the hoax.
