KWKH listener Cindy Williams emailed me a  color photo of Elvis at the Louisiana Hayride.  In her email,  Cindy says,  "My Mom bought a large framed picture at a garage sale and behind the picture, inside the frame were hidden - two (2) identical color photographs of Elvis Presley.

Bob Luman was born in Nacogdoches, Texas. His early interest in music was influenced by his father, an amateur fiddle, guitar and harmonica player. Bob Luman received his first guitar when he was thirteen years of age. Luman attended high school in Kilgore, where the family had moved after young Bob's birth. It was in high school that Luman started his first band.

I was pleased to represent KWKH at the Louisiana Hayride's celebration of Hank Williams music Sunday at the Strand Theatre.  The event was held with fanfare, kicking off a new era for the legendary show that began the careers of legends,  Hank Williams,  Elvis Presley,  Johnny Cash,  Johnny Horton,  Carl Perkins,  Faron Young, Jim Reeves,  Slim Whitman,  and many others.

The Louisiana Hayride celebrates legend  Hank Williams and his music this Sunday with a free concert, and you're invited.  It's from 2 until 5 pm at the historic  Strand  Theatre on Louisiana Avenue in downtown Shreveport.

Shreveport's legendary Louisiana Hayride will be celebrating country music legend Hank Williams with a free concert, Sun., Oct. 16th. The event is sponsored by the Louisiana Hayride Foundation.   It will be held at the historic  Strand Theatre,  which is located on Louisiana Avenue in downtown Shreveport.
