Due to scheduling conflicts on 1130 The Tiger, the Byrd – Marshall game will be carried live on 96.5 KVKI.

C.E. Byrd and Calvary will be participating in this Saturday's Battle on the Border.  It's a prep football showcase that will bring in reigning State Champions, West Monroe and from just across the state line, Marshall High School.  I talked to the head coaches to ask them what it's like to play at Independence Stadium on a big stage.

The Byrd Yellow Jackets will face the Marshall Mavericks this Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Independence Stadium in game #1 during the second annual Battle on the Border.   Kickoff for game #2 is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. as West Monroe High School vs. Calvary Baptist Academy.

Charlie Cavell REGULAR SEASON FINALE The No. 3 ranked Byrd Yellow Jackets will square off against the Airline Vikings in the 2011 regular season finale. Kickoff for the District 1-5A clash is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Lee Hedges Stadium.

Charlie Cavell THE RIVALRY Without a doubt, the biggest rivalry in the City of Shreveport, the No. 3 ranked Byrd Yellow Jackets will square off against the Captain Shreve Gators. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. tonight on KWKH AM 1130.

SHOWDOWN WITH SOUTHWOOD The Byrd Yellow Jackets will put their unblemished record on the line Thursday night in a showdown with the Southwood Cowboys. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Oct. 20 at Lee Hedges Stadium. It’s a Southwood home game so the Jackets are the visiting team.

BATTLE OF THE UNBEATENS The Byrd Yellow Jackets will travel across the Red River to south Bossier City to face the Parkway Panthers in a District 1-5A battle of unbeaten teams. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14 at Preston Crownover Stadium.
