One of the most delightful parts of Spider-Man: Homecoming is how cleverly the Avengers are integrated into the world. Gone are the vague statements like “what happened in New York” — now we have school PSAs recorded by the most sensible Avenger, Captain America himself. We see a few of those PSAs in the movie, but apparently Chris Evans recorded a bunch of them in character, and they’ll all be on the home video release.

Director Jon Watts told Collider that the PSAs would appear as an extra feature on the DVD:

We put it together like it was the actual DVD that they show at the school, so it just is clicking from one to another to another.

He also talked about the filming process, and how they had to film them in a pretty short amount of time.

I just wrote pages of them ’cause I had Chris Evans for however amount of time, so I just feed him … I think we had a teleprompter actually, so he was just … It was like Captain America just showed up and had to do this stuff for the government… He’s just reading it off the scrolling thing and being like, ‘Are you sure you want me to say this?’

As far as that post-credits scene goes [mild SPOILERS ahead, guys], Watts said he had the idea to have one final wink at the movie’s main theme.

When we were shooting, Eric Carroll, one of the Marvel producers and I just started laughing about, ‘What if we did one about patience and make that be a final thing?’

Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently playing.
