18 year old Eric Ricard may be the youngest player to win the Louisiana State Amateur Golf Championship.  The future LSU golfer had the lowest score at a rain shortened tournament this weekend at Southern Trace.

Ricard, who played his prep golf at Loyola, will not turn 19 until September.  The Louisiana Golf Association is researching to find if Eric is the state's youngest ever champion.

Ricard led the 94th Louisiana State Amateur Golf Tournament wire-to-wire.  He was a three shot winner over three time defending state Mid-Amateur Champion Patrick Christovich.  LSU junior (senior to be) Landon Lyons of Baton Rouge finished third.

Shreveporter Brad Petree finished in a three way tie for ninth.

Eddie Lyons, a Southern Trace member, finished tied for fifth.

Centenary's Zander Watson finished in fourth place.
