BATON ROUGE, La. (KMDL-FM) - Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge will be hosting two major concerts in 2026 after the East Baton Rouge Metro Council approved a plan to provide tax rebates to promoters and artists.

The concerts are expected to bring in millions of dollars in ticket sales, concessions, and other spending people do when in town for a major event.

Tax Rebates Aim to Attract Big Talent

The idea for the tax rebates came from Visit Baton Rouge, which said that similar programs exist in other communities. The approved rebates will come from city-parish sales tax revenue generated from ticket sales, concessions, and parking.

“We’re seeing other communities are doing exactly this to recruit talent and to encourage visitation and for the quality of life for their residents,” said Jill Kidder, President and CEO of Visit Baton Rouge.

Metro Council Members See Economic Upside

Metro council members said that passing along a small part of the sales tax collected to the performer will go a long way towards attracting top performers to Baton Rouge.

When Will Artists Be Announced?

According to Visit Baton Rouge, the concerts on the books for 2026 are on March 28 and May 23. The announcement the March show will come in the next two to three weeks, while the artist for the May show is expected to be revealed after the new year.
