Child Molestation Penalties in Texas
In Texas, penalties for child molestation can be severe, as children are typically afforded the utmost protection across America.
This particular felony can often land the accused in prison for 20 years. More extreme cases include aggravated sexual assault against a minor which can lead to up to 99 years in prison.
Gonzalez's History of Reentry
In 2020, Gonzalez was removed from the United States but unlawfully reentered in 2022. He was prosecuted in 2023 by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas in Del Rio due to his attempted reentry as a deported felon. He was then removed from the U.S. once more in 2024.
This being his third attempt at illegally entering the country in the past five years, Texas DPS turned Gonzalez over to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
