WWE Hall of Fame Member is Coming to Geek'd Con

Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center.

The guest lineup will include horror movie icon Tony Todd, E.T. stars Henry Thomas and Dee Wallace, the voice of Master Chief Steve Downes, award winning actor Billy Zane, the voice of Mickey Mouse Bret Iwan, and many more incredibly talented celebrities.

Also appearing will be WWE Hall of Fame member Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake.

GTCollectibles will be bringing Beefcake to Shreveport for the show. He is one of the most recognizable wrestlers in American pro wrestling history, Beefcake made a name for himself in the World Wrestling Federation with his flamboyant and outlandish outfits. He formed a tag team with Greg Valentine called The Dream Team, and would win the WWF Tag Team Championships in 1985. The Dream Team would hold the titles for over 225 days, before losing them at Wrestlemania 2.

Beefcake was a member of the original Wrestlemania 1 card, taking on David Sammartino in a singles match that ended in a double DQ.

In fact, Beefcake was one of just a handful of wrestlers who competed in the first 6 Wrestlemania events.

After his WWE/F career, Beefcake moved to WCW. He had a chance to challenge for the WCW World Heavyweight title at Starrcade '94, where he lost in the headlining match to Hulk Hogan. He would have multiple gimmicks in WCW, eventually joining the nWo under the name The Disciple. Even though his WCW career wasn't as successful as his WWE/F career, he regularly ranks highly on historic lists of that period. Including being named one of the Top 10 nWo Members, Ranked By In-Ring Skills.

Beefcake was named as one of the 500 best singles wrestlers of the "PWI Years" by Pro Wrestling Illustrated, where he ranked #173. He was named to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.

Johnny's Pizza House Geek'd Con is back for 2024! Once again at the Shreveport Convention Center in Downtown Shreveport. This year's event will feature the first ever Shreveport Sports Card Expo on the second floor. This will feature sports card vendors, memorabilia vendors, and sports guests!
