Shreveport: Explore the Cosmos with a Cold Brew at “Telescopes on Tap”!
While Shreveport missed out on Sunday's Aurora Borealis display, we'll soon have another chance to experience the wonders of our galaxy. If you're a fan of outer space and enjoy a good brew, a perfect event has been created just for you! The Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society is hosting "Telescopes on Tap" for all aspiring astronauts.
Great Raft Brewing in Shreveport is collaborating with the Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society for a fundraiser on Thursday, June 12th. “Telescopes on Tap” isn't just a fundraiser, its an opportunity for the public to learn about astronomy in Shreveport. The night will start with an introductory program, followed by a question-and-answer session, and a trivia contest. If the weather allows, you will be able to observe with telescopes. The event will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at the Great Raft Brewing in Shreveport, located at 1251 Dalzell Street.
The Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt Louisiana corporation dedicated to the study of astronomy. The members are active in many fields of amateur astronomy, including astrophotography, variable star observation, occultation timing, astrometry, and the study of planets, star clusters, and nebula.
