6 Must Watch Mitch Pileggi Movies Before Geek’d Con
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center.
Tickets for this year's Geek'd Con are available right now. You can get yours here.
The guest lineup will include horror movie icon Tony Todd, Scrubs star John C. McGinley, the voice of Master Chief Steve Downes, award winning actor Billy Zane, the voice of Mickey Mouse Bret Iwan, and many more incredibly talented celebrities.
Actor Mitch Pileggi will also be appearing. He's probably best known for his work in the X-Files franchise, and will be appearing alongside X-Files co-star Annabeth Gish in Shreveport.
But before Mitch Pileggi appeared in the hit X-Files series, he was already appeared in multiple horror movies, including staring in a cult classic film. Lets take a look at those movies, and some others you need to see before Mitch Pileggi comes to Shreveport...
Return of The Living Dead Part II - Sergeant
It's a "blink and you miss it" type cameo, but it's become one of the classic scenes in the movie. Lets just say any excuse to watch Return of the Living Dead Part II is a good one.
Shocker - Horace Pinker
Even though its not the biggest movie Mitch Pileggi was in, this is his biggest film role. The Wes Craven written and directed film didn't land as well as some of his other work, a lot of that can be blamed on the ambitious special effects in the movie. Which were cutting edge in the late 1980s, but didn't hold up for long. As a horror movie, it didn't get great reviews from critics, but has gained a large cult following over the years.
The X-Files - Walter Skinner
One of Mitch Pileggi's best known roles is Walter Skinner in the X-Files. The character transitioned from the small screen to the big screen in the summer of 1998. The X-Files movie made almost $190 million at the box office.
The X-Files: I Want to Believe - Walter Skinner
OK, maybe not fair to just piggyback the X-Files movies...but if you're a fan, these are movies you want to catch whenever you can.
The Girl In The Photographs - Sheriff Porter
So this one has a little bit of a historical context to it. Even if the movie isn't the best, this is a pretty important Wes Craven film. Mitch Pileggi got a huge career boost thanks to his lead role as Horace Pinker in Craven's film Shocker. Craven wrote and directed the film that served as Pileggi's first big break. Which brings us to The Girl In The Photographs, which is the last film produced by Craven before he passed away in 2015.
Gun Shy - DEA Agent Dexter Helvenshaw
This one is a little weird by comparison to the others on the list. Its a dark comedy with some big A-list names. Pileggi isn't a big part of the film, but its a good pallet cleanser after you watch Shocker and X-Files.
