Help From Shreveport Needed to Make Thanksgiving Happen
The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission Has Made a Difference in Our Community for Over 68 Years.
Back in 1955 Rev. R.G. Jones and several businessmen founded the Shreveport Rescue Mission for the purpose of providing overnight shelter and a gospel service for people passing through Shreveport. The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission has since grown and exists to pursue the passion of Jesus Christ to lift up the hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted.
Their websites mission statement says; "Pursuing the passion of Jesus Christ to lift up the hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted is what the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is all about. We are on a mission to change our cities one life at a time. This is accomplished only by a caring community that supports the work of our Life Recovery Program." The Mission also has a full-scale Life Recovery Program that is transforming lives here in our community.
The Mission has been busy helping others and now they need our help. A recent Facebook post is asking for donations to be able to make over 1,300 meals this Thanksgiving. Here is what the post said:
"We need your help! On Thanksgiving Day alone, the Mission will serve 1,300 meals to our neighbors in need. There's still a lot of supplies left we need to fulfill those 1,300 meals. Here's how you can help...
