Shreveport’s Give for Good Day Raises $2.5 Million Despite Tornadoes
Shreveport's annual Give for Good Day raised $2.5 million for local nonprofits, despite tornado warnings and power outages impacting the event. The Community Foundation of North Louisiana, which organizes the event, saw over 4,000 donors contribute more than 8,700 donations to 222 organizations, which is still phenomenal, although slightly below last year's totals.
Economic Challenges Impact Donations
Kristi Gustavson, from the Community Foundation, told KEEL News that while the number of donations was slightly lower, the average donation remained strong at approximately $230. Economic concerns and inflation may have limited the participation of smaller donors, a trend the foundation anticipated.
You Can Still Make Donations to Your Favorite Non-Profit
For those who missed the event due to weather or other circumstances, donations can still be made directly to participating organizations via https://www.giveforgoodnla.org/. The Community Foundation is also available to assist donors at 318-221-0582.

Looking Forward to Next Year
Despite challenges, the Community Foundation remains optimistic about reaching their $3 million goal next year, with plans to analyze this year's data to refine strategies and support local nonprofits effectively.
