
Inspectors Find Ongoing Rodent Issues at Shreveport Theater
The problems with rodents is still not corrected at the Tinseltown movie theater in Shreveport.
What Latest Inspection Report at Tinseltown Says
The last inspection at the theater was on November 17 just before 10am. That report shows there was still a critical problem. This report shows a violation as a result of “insect/rodent control.”
This is a 2nd re-inspection of the snack bar and the theaters in the mega cineplex on Millicent Way. The report says “rodents are present in the establishment.”
What Happened During Previous Inspections at Tinseltown
On September 19th health inspectors found several problems at the theater:
One of the violations is listed as critical and includes comments about rodents being present in the theater.
The other violations found during the September inspection include:
1. Problems with food storage
2. Water temperature in the bathrooms
3. Dust, dirt and food residue on equipment in snack bar.
4. Litter on the property.
During a follow-up inspection in October 3rd just before 10:30am, health inspectors found continued problems with rodents and actually found a dead rat in one of the traps.
What Actions Could Be Taken by Health Department
State health officials could now impose fines for these violations. But the theater could also be forced to shut down if these problems are not fixed immediately.
The theater is in breach of the Louisiana State Sanitary Code.
Cinemark officials pledged to have all the problems corrected by November 7th, but this latest inspection shows there is still a problem.
The state of Louisiana could now begin the process of implementing a compliance order. This could lead to fines of up to $100 per day for each violation.
