Shreveport Police Seeking Man Who Stole Money Order from Post Office
SHREVEPORT, LA- Police seek identity of postal pilferer
Investigators with the Shreveport Police Department’s Financial Crimes Division are asking the public’s help to identify a man accused of stealing and forging a money order in early August.
The victim reported that on August 8, 2024, she mailed a check to her mortgage company for just over $600.00 from a United States Postal Service Collection box in the 8300 block of Mansfield Road. After a week the mortgage company contacted the victim inquiring about the payment. The victim tracked the money order and learned that it had been cashed. She filed a report and detectives launched an investigation. Through that investigation they learned that the money order had been altered and then cashed at the main post office on Texas Street.
Investigators secured video surveillance footage of the suspect and have released that video in hopes that the public can help identify the suspect(s).
