SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Police Arrest Felon with Stolen Firearm
On October 6, 2024, at approximately 7:45 PM, Shreveport Police Department patrol officers conducted a traffic stop near Mansfield Road and Kingston Avenue. During the stop, officers made contact with the driver, identified as Jonathan Wilson. Upon investigating the traffic violations, officers discovered a stolen firearm in Wilson's possession.
Further investigation revealed that Wilson, 35, is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms. In addition to the firearm, officers also found narcotics of various types and ammunition. Wilson has been charged with illegal carrying of a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and multiple traffic offenses.
This arrest underscores the Shreveport Police Department's continued efforts to remove firearms from those who are prohibited from possessing them, ensuring the safety of our community.
