SHREVEPORT, LA

 

The Shreveport Police Department’s DWI Unit was exceptionally busy this past weekend, arresting a total of 17 individuals for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and related offenses. The arrests were made as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to keep Shreveport’s roadways safe and to deter impaired driving.

Shreveport Police released the following statement concerning the arrests

“This weekend’s arrests highlight the continued dangers posed by impaired drivers,” said SPD Chief Wayne Smith. “Our DWI Unit remains vigilant in protecting our community from those who choose to put lives at risk.” 

The Shreveport Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not only illegal but potentially deadly. Always plan ahead—use a designated driver, rideshare service, or public transportation.
