Shreveport Man Found Guilty of Sexual Assault of a 16 Year-Old

A Shreveport Man accused of raping a 16 year-old girl in 2023 was found guilty yesterday in Caddo Court.

26 year-old Tra'tavion Jermaine Turner was found guilty of third-degree rape. Turner was accused back in 2023 of an assault that happened when he asked to use the victim's phone. The victim, one of the victim's parents, an advocate from the Gingerbread House, and four SPD Officers all gave testimony before the Jury.

During the trial, Jurors also heard testimony that Turner was convicted of another sex offence involving children.

When Turner returns for sentencing in June, he's facing up to 25 years in prison at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
