Shreveport Police Arrest Man Following Dog Attack

On Saturday afternoon, Shreveport Police got a call from Brantway Street reporting a wild altercation!

According to SPD, Justin Tackett was trying to get in to the Brantway Street house, but the owner refused to let him in. According to the owner of the home, he told Tackett to leave the property due to his constant drug use.

When Tackett was turned away by the homeowner, witnesses say that Tackett released his dog on the person while six children were in the house.

Tackett left the property, but showed back up after a short while. This time Tackett had a gun. A witness at the scene, heroically tackled Tackett to the ground and held him there until SPD could show up.

Tackett was arrested and charged with:

· One count of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon

· Six counts of Contributing to the Endangerment of a Minor

This incident remains under investigation.
