Shreveport, LA – Five individuals believed to be responsible for a recent downtown fight have been located and arrested following a targeted investigation. The arrests resulted from a joint effort between the Shreveport Police Department, Probation & Parole, and multiple police units.

Of the five arrested, three were found to be on active probation at the time of the incident. Jacorey Wesley, Demarcus Eiland, and Aaron Small are being held on an additional probation violation and are currently being held without bond pending further legal action.

Shreveport Police Chief Vows Zero Tolerance for Violence

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith issued a strong statement regarding the incident and the department's commitment to public safety.

“Make no mistake — we will not tolerate violence in our downtown,” said Chief Smith. “These five chose to bring fear and disorder to a place meant for families, businesses and visitors.”

He commended the speed and diligence of the law enforcement personnel involved. “Our detectives worked around the clock, with help from Probation & Parole and specialized units, to identify and locate those responsible.”

Chief Smith also stressed the department's intent to be forthcoming about the perpetrators. “Where appropriate and consistent with policy, we will be transparent with the community about who brought this disruption to our streets. Those who commit crimes in Shreveport will face the full, lawful consequences of their actions.”

Shreveport Community Cooperation Praised

The Shreveport Police Department extended its gratitude to the public, whose cooperation was vital to the investigation's success. The department thanked "the members of the public who came forward with tips and video evidence — your cooperation was critical to moving this investigation forward."

The statement concluded by commending the officers involved, acknowledging "the officers and investigators whose professionalism and persistence produced these arrests."
