
Louisiana Fall Flavor Rankings Will Probably Surprise You
You might get mad at me for saying this, but I just don’t get it. What is the big deal with this obsession some folks have about pumpkin spice flavored everything? It’s just not for me.
But it is that time of year again. Pretty soon, we will be done with this summer heat and we will welcome in fall. You have probably already seen the pumpkin spiced flavors popping up. It’s arrived at coffee shops around town.
Is Louisiana Crazy About Pumpkin Spice?
The top fall flavor around the nation is indeed pumpkin spice. But that is not the case in Louisiana. In fact, pumpkin spice flavored things are not the favorite flavor in most southern states.

What Is the Favorite Fall Flavor in Louisiana?
According to Doordash’s fall flavor breakdown, apple is the runaway favorite in the Bayou State. Apple flavored beverages and treats are also tops across the south from Louisiana to Florida and in fact all the way up the eastern seaboard.
Arkansas is one of the only states in the south that loves a different fall flavor. They put caramel at the top of the list. But I love caramel all year. I guess I didn’t know it was considered a “fall flavor”.
This data shows pecan is the runaway favorite in Texas, making it the fastest-rising fall flavor nationwide.
The top flavors across the nation are actually apple and caramel. Pumpkin spice comes in a strong 3rd in this report.

Louisiana Still Loves Pumpkin Spice
Though pumpkin spice is not the top flavor in Louisiana, residents do love the flavor and it is a big seller at coffee houses and other treat spots in the area. Pumpkin pie is also one of our favorite fall desserts. I would probably fit in better in Texas, because I am going for the pecan pie over the pumpkin pie, every time.
