Yesterday, Shreveport Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 3200 block of Milton Street.

While on the phone with the victims, 911 dispatchers reported a chaotic scene on the other side of the line, including a woman screaming and a child stating that a man had hit him.

Officers arrived to the scene, and were able to quickly take Trey Catts into custody without further incident.

During the arrest, Catts was found to be armed with a gun. An investigation showed that he was not allowed to have a gun due to prior felony convictions, including illegal use of a weapon in 2021 and felon in possession of a firearm in 2022.

Catts now faces one count of felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of cruelty to a juvenile in connection with this domestic incident.

From SPD:

"The Shreveport Police Department commends the responding officers for their quick actions and their efforts to de-escalate the situation before any serious injuries could occur. Domestic violence and the illegal possession of firearms will not be tolerated in our community."
