
This Classic Texas Dish Was Just Named the Best Fall Food
A Texas staple was found to be the best fall food in a new survey. And I must say that while I’m a big fan of many of the foods associated with autumn, I wholeheartedly agree with the results.
Fall in Texas: Football, Cool Weather, and Comfort
I love this time of year. For one thing, football is my favorite sport and it’s not even close (sorry baseball, basketball, and hockey players – I love your sports, too, just not as much). But also, because I love the cool weather and holidays.

For my money, the best thing about every holiday is the feast. I’m usually conscious of my calorie intake, but not during the holidays. Nope, I eat everything my heart desires. I’ll worry about counting calories the rest of the year.
And while most people associate Thanksgiving foods like turkey, dressing, and pecan pie with fall, it’s also the time of year when folks tend to eat more comfort foods. When it comes to comfort foods, there’s nothing like a hot bowl of chili on a cool fall day, in my opinion.
Apparently, I’m not alone in my thinking. Texas-style chili (no beans, of course) was ranked as the top fall food in a survey of over 3,000 foodies. What can I say? Great minds think alike.
