Texas Rangers Retiring ‘The Peagle’ Tonight, Fan Favorite Uniform Going Away
In 2023, the Texas Rangers unveiled their new city connect uniforms. That year, the team also won their first World Series. Coincidence, I think not!
City Connect jerseys have become a thing in Major League Baseball starting in 2021. The Texas Rangers unveiled theirs in April of 2023. It has many odes to the former baseball teams in the Dallas area throughout the years.
Breaking Down Texas Rangers City Connect Jerseys
The Texas Rangers essentially combined three DFW baseball teams into one uniform. The Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs, Dallas Eagles, and Dallas Panthers. These are the baseball teams that North Texas knew before the Rangers came to town and this uniform is showing respect to that baseball history. However, one aspect of this uniform has become a fan favorite.
The Peagle is Retiring
The logo known as 'The Peagle' which combines the Dallas Panthers and Dallas Eagles together has become a fan favorite. Especially since the team won their first ever World Series after unveiling 'The Peagle' earlier that same season. Countless Rangers fans have Peagle tattoos (just some of the ones I found above). Sadly it looks like with a new City Connect uniform coming next year for the Rangers, The Peagle will go into extinction.
September 19, 2025, Final Peagle Game
If anybody is going to Globe Life Field tonight. The Texas Rangers will be rocking their 2023 City Connect uniforms for the final time tonight. I imagine the Peagle will still be a favorite throwback item in the team store for years to come, but it doesn't look like the team will be wearing it on the field after tonight. R.I.P. Peagle 2023-2025, we hardly knew you.
