Shoppers at a North Texas Walmart had to cover their heads with store merchandise to protect themselves as hail broke through the roof.

Believe it or not, it’s not the first time that’s happened at a big box retailer here in the Lone Star State. Just last year, I shared a clip of hail crashing through the roof of a Lubbock Sam’s Club.

For those who are new to this part of the country, it’s true that we regularly deal with severe weather from March through June. But this storm season has been one of the wildest I can remember.

We also regularly deal with drought around here. So, the tradeoff is that when we finally get enough rain to get us out of a drought, it typically brings hail, high winds, and tornadoes along with it.

Looking at the latest forecast, it appears that we’re in for another wild week of weather in Texas. Stay tuned in to local media for the latest updates.
