They don’t call Fort Worth “Funky Town” for nothing.

I’ve always loved Fort Worth. In fact, the Stockyards is one of my favorite day trip destinations. I find myself knocking one back in the many bars there quite often.

But there’s also a wild side to Fort Worth.

WATCH: Dallas Driver Loses Tire, Keeps Right on Going

Back in the late 80s and early 90s, it seemed like they were filming an episode of Cops there about once a month. That’s because there are some wild folks there. As they say, you fish where the fish are.

Admittedly, the video below isn’t the wildest thing I’ve ever seen, far from it. But there’s something about watching the guy in the white rape van attempt to flee the police that made me chuckle.

At one point, he gets out and takes off on foot, and quickly disappears into a drainage ditch. That’s when we realize he didn’t put the van in park as it slowly rolls toward the curb before coming to a stop.

Now, I don’t know if the cops were able to catch him. But I would be willing to bet money they did as a police helicopter comes into view at the end of the clip. It’s kind of hard to evade the eye in the sky.
