We live in Louisiana so this type of sighting shouldn't come as much of a surprise, and yet it always leaves us with our mouths wide open.

Around 11:00 pm on Wednesday, October 23, social media fans in north Louisiana started blowing up Facebook with pictures of a massive alligator spotted in the middle of Benton Road near Bergeron's and it appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

Louisiana Breaking News posted the story and picture to their site and some of the comments that rolled in from their followers were absolutely hysterical.

Debra wrote, "It should be on suicide watch if it went to Bergeron’s"

Doug says, "Even alligators know it's better to use Benton Road than Airline any day."

From Greg, "We going to need more peanut oil & tater tots …… Who’s doing the garlic bread?"

Jeffrey says, "WHO GETS THE BOOTS?!"

Regarding the men in the photo standing over the gator, Stacie wrote, "Are they interviewing him to ask what happened??"

Other postings on Facebook received some equally hilarious comments like Jason who wrote, "It's a Louisiana speed bump."

Though I can't confirm this, sadly I do believe the animal had to be euthanized due to the injuries it had already received after being struck by the vehicle.
