Caddo Deputies Honor 9-Year-Old Boy Fighting Cancer
It'll be a special evening for a young Caddo Parish boy who's been battling an aggressive form of cancer.
At 5:30PM, Jamarion Daughtery will get a visit from members of the Caddo Sheriff's Office Special Response Team and other deputies. They'll present him with a certificate and patches, and give him a ride in the SRT's armored vehicle.
Jamarion is battling Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, and doctors say all efforts to treat it have failed. Jamarion's mother, Deputy Jacqueline Daughtery, has been with the Caddo Sheriff's Office for the past nine years. She says the support from her co-workers has been overwhelming.
"Jamarion is so excited about the visit and ride-along today," she said in a CSO news release.
"It all started with a few deputies wanting to present Jamarion with a patch and has grown into so much more," said Sheriff's Captain Rick Farris.
The Bossier Sheriff's Office, Bossier City Police Department, Webster Parish Sheriff's Office and DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office have also sent patches and certificates to be given to Jamarion today.
