Howard's birthplace is Knoxville, Tennessee...just about 4 hours east of Music City. By the time he was 6, Shreveport was "home" and has been ever since. Many mornings, he'd wake up to the sound of country music coming from his parents' clock radio and the singular salutation of "Hello world, doggone ya!", recorded by KWKH original licensee W.K. Henderon. He lived 6 years in Monroe, earned a Broadcasting Degree from then Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM) and cut his first set of radio chops on former Louisiana governor Jimmy Noe's 540 KNOE. When he returned to Shreveport, he had the opportunity to work with legends the like of Larry Ryan, Frank Page and Larry Scott.

Tour de France 2012 Stage 13
On Friday 13th, Tour de France (TdF) Stage 12 was ridden; July 14, Stage 13 was ridden. It might seem strange, but I just notice little things like this; two “#13s” within a 24 hour period. I’m not superstitious, just observing.
Tour de France 2012 Stage 12
Note, remember I said that I've been working for the last seven years to watch every stage of Tour de France...so my recap of stage 12 is a bit late but here, none the less. Thanks for reading.
13 is the day, the stage is 12 from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne to Annonay Davezieux and tomorrow, the intrepid riders of Tour de France (Tdf) ride Stage 13; two 13s in a twenty four hour period...
Tour de France 2012 Stage 9-Individual Time Trial
Bicycling regularly around south Caddo parish and occasionally venturing out to various routes in the Ark-La-Tex presents its challenges, pleasures and rewards, but it’s nothing quite like bicycling the legendary Tour de France (Tdf).
I’d heard of TdF many years ago...
Where Is My TIME Going?
Poet Robert Burns said it: "the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray."
Of the several times I've purposed to provide the promised updated photo of myself, something has gotten in the way.
A Four Day Work Week; Oh, Really? Come On!
Over the weekend, I read in The Times about flap concerning a four day work week. It’s difficult to see what the hubbub is about. Oh, yeah, the biggest argument is “it’s always been that way.”
Actually, no, it’s not “always been that way...
Surfing the Wake of Non-Rapture; What Is Gold Worth, Really?
Surfing the wake of the non-rapture this Memorial Day, thinking about my gratitude to my fellow citizens in the military who defend and preserve our freedom and liberty, I opened my Bible, as I really should do every day.
What’s a “Byway?”
Ever hear someone say about our roads: “If you’re on the highways and byways, drive carefully.”
It’s a colloquialism – a regional expression – that you can likely hear anywhere across our nation.
Loo-e-z-WHOOZ?
Listening to advertising on the radio air is just part of life! It totes the freight for a great American tradition; listening to our favorite songs and legendary performers.
Sometimes, however, I feel it necessary to call to task some of the copywriters and announcers for those ads, because, well doggone it, I WRITE and VOICE some of those ads! It's just another part of being a radio person, but
