‘Assault With Sandwich’ in Louisiana Restaurant Lands 2 in Jail
I'm not exactly sure what's been going on over the last few years, but evidently Louisiana people are just plain old hangry.
It appears that Louisiana restaurants are the go-to place for all-out brawls. Remember last year when the staff and customers got into a huge brawl at Nicky's in Shreveport?
A few years ago, it was a real fisticuffs at Superior Steakhouse. And you must remember the grandfather of all fights at the Whataburger in Shreveport?
Apparently, people in Slidell, Louisiana are hoping for a little time in the viral boxing spotlight as well and this past Saturday they might have set the bar a little higher after a couple of people were arrested for "assault with a sandwich"; well, actually the charges were for simple battery, but it all stemmed from one customer taking a sandwich directly to the face.
According to Slidell Police, a customer walked up to the counter at a local restaurant to order a sandwich. Apparently, the sandwich maker made the order wrong. The customer, not happy with her order, pushed the sandwich off the counter and told the sandwich maker to make her the correct sandwich. This is where things get interesting…
The sandwich maker then picked the sandwich up off the ground and hurled it right into the customer’s face!
At this time the customer called her sister, who showed up shortly thereafter, and she confronted the sandwich maker and a brawl ensued.
It was at this time another customer called the Slidell Police. Officers say that when they arrived, the sister and the sandwich maker were actively fighting. The officers were able to break up the fight and quickly restored peace and order. The officers started their investigation by interviewing the involved parties and witnesses.
Based on the outcome of the investigation, the sister and the sandwich maker were both placed under arrest and charged with simple battery.
