The wait is almost over for Zac Brown Band to release their highly-anticipated third studio album, ‘Uncaged.’ The new music is set to hit stores on July 10, but in the meantime, the band has revealed a bit more information about what we can expect this go around to tide us over while we wait.

Besides the introduction of ZBB’s newest member Daniel de los Reyes on percussion, the band says the album shows definite growth and maturity since their first release, ‘The Foundation.’

“This is first record that we’ve made from start to finish in one thought,” says multi-instrumentalist Clay Cook. “The previous albums have been a collection of songs … this is an album.”

“We’re always trying to push the barrier of our musicianship and I’m proud to say that there is a little bit of something for everyone,” adds frontman Zac Brown, who also says the album is a culmination of “powerful chemistry that’s developed by living, traveling and working as a band.”

The content on ‘Uncaged’ will include the slow-burning track ‘Goodbye in Her Eyes,’ which guitarist Coy Bowles calls “the biggest sounding song we’ve ever recorded.” The 11-song release is peppered with familiar names behind the songs, including longtime collaborator Wyatt Durrette, Sonia Leigh, Levi Lowrey and Nic Cowan. The album also features guest vocals from Amos Lee on the poignant tune, ‘Day That I Die.’

“[The songs on the album] remain true to the Zac Brown Band sound, which has become a style in itself,” notes violinist Jimmy De Martini.

Fans who have been lucky enough to catch the Zac Brown Band live in recent months have already heard some of the new music. Check out the video below of the band performing the title track of ‘Uncaged’ recently in New Orleans.
