Shreveport-Bossier has gotten quite a bit of rain lately elevating water levels on local rivers and lakes.

Will that affect next weekend’s Bassmaster Classic on the Red River?

Chris Jay with the local tourism office says the anglers he’s talked to say it won’t be much of a problem.

In fact, it might help them get to backwater areas they otherwise wouldn’t be able to access with lower water levels.

Some are seeing it as a good thing, more of a challenge. The Classic runs February 24th through 26th, and Jay encourages you to utilize the free shuttle service, because parking will be an issue in several places.

The shuttle picks people up at the CenturyLink Center parking lot and drops them off at the other locations where events are taking place.
