After the New Orleans Pelicans magical NBA Playoff run ended at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, many fans turned their attention to next season. One of the big reasons for that, is the looming contract negotiations with All Star DeMarcus Cousins.

Which will be very interesting, because in some eyes, the team actually got better after Cousins got injured. But, DeMarcus Cousins has told The Undefeated that he’s open to going back to New Orleans, however in the end he’ll do what’s best for him.

Cousins is rehabbing from a torn Achilles tendon, and he becomes an unrestricted free-agent in July. The four-time NBA All-Star believes he’ll be ready by the time NBA training camps open in September.

There are other contracts that the Pels will have to consider as well. Like veteran presence Rajon Rondo, who just finished up his one-year deal, but played incredibly well for Nola this year, and was a veteran presence for the team's playoff run.
