After taking 2 of 3 from the #1 team in the country this weekend, the LSU baseball team has scored the 5th seed in the SEC Tournament. Beating Florida this past weekend didn't just help secure a higher seed for the Tigers, it helped with their confidence. The Rally Possum has been doing what it can, but it's really going to be up to the Tiger arms to keep their season going.

So who will they trust tonight? Here's what the Louisiana Radio Network says:

"LSU freshman left-hander Jake Latz will start on the mound tonight for the Tigers when they take on Tennessee in the SEC Tournament. Latz has only appeared three games this season as he recovered from elbow surgery. But Coach Paul Mainieri says Latz pitched well on Saturday and hopes his arm troubles are behind him. Mainieri also had the option to use seven-game winner Alex Lange, who last pitched three innings on Thursday, because the game was halted because of severe weather. Mainieri says Lange will pitch Wednesday night against Florida, if the Tigers win tonight."

So even though Latz will start on the mound, Lange is still in the back of everyone's head. I know, you want him to start against Florida on Wednesday, but that game isn't promised if the Tigers can't get through Tuesday.

As much as LSU wants to be a high enough seed in the NCAA tournament to host some games, they could be at risk of getting planted as a 3 or 4 seed in a tough draw if they don't clear Tuesday. Who knows, they could whiff an at-large bid.
