What’s Going On Inside A Potato Gun…In Slow Motion [VIDEO]
I remember the first time I ever shot a potato gun. I was amazed that a few pieces of PVC and some hairspray could launch a potato as far as it did.
There's some real science going on inside one of those things. Expanding gasses and all that. I'm no scientist, so I couldn't explain it if I tried.
But this guy IS a scientist, and not only does he explain it, but he built a transparent potato gun and filmed the shots in slow motion so you can see exactly what happens inside, and why the potato is shot out with such force and velocity.
Do potato guns have a muzzle velocity? What caliber is a potato, anyway?
Check out the video below, and show it to your kids. I'm sure they will think it's a blast.
See what I did there...blast. Never mind.
