More information has been released about a woman's body found just north of Red River South Marina Friday afternoon.

The Bossier Sheriff's Office says the body is that of a black female, about 5' tall and 120 pounds. She is believed to have been between 40 and 60 years old. There were no visible scars or tattoos, and she had very short hair.

The Bossier Parish Coroner reports the woman had most likely been in the water for 2-3 weeks. Sheriff's office crime scene investigators are working with the coroner's office to identify the woman using DNA and dental records.

Detectives are also coordinating with other agencies upstream on the Red River to check missing persons cases in those areas.

Anyone with information that can help is asked to call the BSO at 318-965-2203.
