The Major League Baseball Draft came and went this week, and the state of Louisiana was very well represented.

From LSU's Alex Lange getting selected by the Chicago Cubs in the first round, all the way to the end of the draft, players from LSU, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, and various Louisiana high schools. It was an extremely deep class for the state of Louisiana according to a lot of experts.

But just because you're drafted doesn't mean you're going to the bigs...or even taking a minor league contract. The Louisiana Radio Network as a pretty good example from ULL:

"UL Lafayette’s ace pitcher, Gunner Leger, has announced he’s returning for his senior season. Even though the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year was selected in the 26th round by the Miami Marlins. Cajuns outfielder Steven Sensley was selected in the 12th round by the Yankees and the As picked pitcher Wyatt Marks in the 13th round."
